| Jim and Ingrid raised
dahlias for the first time in 1998. They got a late start and had little time
to plan. This year is much different, but right away they had a set back. In
Jims words..... Our back yard garden after a very localized hail storm on June 11, 1999. I got home from the office and did not see any hail damage until I was about 4 blocks from home. There were still 2 inch piles of hail in the garden at 8:00 pm that evening--3 hours after the storm. |

| In spite of the storm the dahlias survived. The next few pictures were taken on July 23, 1999. The majority of the plants were from cuttings. |
