The McAllister garden is located on a 60 by 150 foot (45m X 18m) city lot. The rear 65 feet (20m) of this lot contains the gardens and lawn displayed in these pictures. The McAllisters raise over 200 dahlia plants in two garden beds and integrated into the various borders.

The garden to the right is 13 by 47 feet (5m X 18m), and generally referred to as Carroll's dahlia garden. It contains a decorative border and 73 dahlia plants. Carroll also assumes responsibility for everything else inside the fences. Note: The system for supporting the dahlia plants is not visible in most of these pictures and barely shows when they are visible. Click on support system to learn more. |

Across the lawn from Carroll's Dahlia Garden is the Windmill Garden. Many small sized, single and novelty dahlias are planted here-and-there in the borders each year. |

The carpeting between the rows in the McAllister's dahlia gardens help to make paths "Visitor Friendly" (as demonstrated by grandson Zack). Another interesting feature of this garden is the unobtrusive "No Stake/No Tie" dahlia support system utilizing specially modified plant cages. Page 2 features wind and hail covers for the dahlias in the McAllister's 1998 garden. |
